For engraved plastic signs, the text has been 'carved' into the surface layer. This provides a permanent labelling that merges with the sign itself. The two protective layers of laminated acrylic help the labels endure things like scratches, UV radiation and hefty temperature changes. Great if you want to avoid constant replacements and maintenance work.
